I've been making progress on Birch. (Much to the detriment of every other knitting project I have going). I am really loving the project, but sometimes it feels like I am not making any progress at all. I thought I had knit more than I thought I had, but when I counted my stitches I found I still have nearly 220 stitches still on the needles. I really was hoping I was under 200. it seemed like it at any rate.
I finally couldn't take the Balene circular needles any longer. The crook in the needles was driving me crazy on the purl side so I switched over to my Addi Turbos as they are the only other circulars I have in a size 8. They were working okay, I wasn't having any problems with them being too slippery, but the blunt tips were a bit rough for working the K2 TBL's. I went out and bought a pair of Balene straights and have been cruising right along. The only downside with the straights is that I have to stop knitting occasionally on the train when it gets too crowded. I don't want to be taking an eye out or anything.
I'm not the only one out there working on Birch either. No offical KAL's going on but go check out some of the other Birches in progress. They are all so beautiful.
Laura - Actually a Kiri adaption, but beautiful.
Jessica - A finished Birch - stunning! (and good motivation to keep going!)
Theresa - No picture yet, but hopefully soon
Jilz - Another Kiri adaption. Can't wait for an update.
If anyone else is working on a Birch or Kiri let me know. I love seeing everyone's beautiful work. It's a bit of an unoffical Knit along!
I cannot wait to see this blocked! I just love the soft green color.

oh wow! Love your Birch and color. Makes me wanna run out and get more KSH :) It is kinda obsessive isn't it? I'm only managing 2 to 4 rows each night but it's really satisfying watching it grow albeit slowly.
